A powerful 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck the province of Aceh, Indonesia, on Tuesday morning, according to the country’s Geophysical Agency.
Officials reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was located at a depth of approximately 13 kilometers (8 miles), classifying it as a relatively shallow seismic event.
No Tsunami Risk
Authorities quickly confirmed that there is no tsunami threat associated with the earthquake, reassuring residents across the region.
Indonesia lies along the Pacific Ring of Fire, one of the most seismically active zones in the world, where frequent earthquakes and volcanic activity occur due to intense tectonic movement.
