A 5.1-magnitude earthquake was reported in Alaska on Tuesday (April 1), according to the United States Geological Survey.
The earthquake was centered at a depth of 11.4 kilometers (about seven miles). The USGS said it received 60 reports of people having felt the earthquake at the time of publication.
The Alaska earthquake was reported one day after a 4.0-magnitude earthquake was reported in Nevada on Monday (March 31), according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered at a depth of 6.2 kilometers (about 3.9 miles).
