The Meteo24News USA Severe Weather Center provides a live overview of high-impact National Weather Service warnings across the United States. The interactive map focuses on weather hazards that may require rapid action, including tornado warnings, severe thunderstorm warnings, flash flood warnings, hurricane and tropical storm warnings, storm surge warnings, blizzard warnings, snow squall warnings and extreme wind warnings.

Each warning polygon represents an official NWS alert area. The filters above the map allow individual hazard categories to be switched on or off, while the live counters show how many warnings are currently displayed. What Is a National Weather Service Warning?

An NWS warning is issued when hazardous weather is occurring, imminent or considered sufficiently likely to require protective action. The exact meaning depends on the warning type. A Tornado Warning, for example, indicates an immediate tornado threat, while a Flash Flood Warning means dangerous flooding is occurring or expected soon within the warned area.

Tornado and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings

Tornado Warnings and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are among the fastest-changing alerts on the map. Hurricane, Tropical Storm and Storm Surge Warnings

Tropical alerts cover hazards from landfalling or nearby tropical cyclones. Hurricane and Tropical Storm Warnings focus on damaging wind conditions, while Storm Surge Warnings identify locations where life-threatening coastal inundation is possible. Winter and Extreme Wind Warnings

The Severe Weather Center also displays high-impact cold-season and wind hazards, including Blizzard Warnings, Snow Squall Warnings and Extreme Wind Warnings. These alerts can lead to dangerous travel conditions, rapid reductions in visibility, power outages and structural damage.

How Often Is the Map Updated?

The warning feed is checked automatically every two minutes. When the National Weather Service issues, updates or expires a high-impact warning, the map and automated situation summary can update without the visitor manually reloading the page.
