A breathtaking natural spectacle is unfolding in Hawaii, where the Kilauea volcano has erupted once again. Since Sunday, massive lava fountains have been shooting more than 330 meters (1,080 feet) into the air from the crater, creating a stunning display of fire and molten rock.
Kilauea is among the most active volcanoes in the world, and this latest eruption has drawn global attention from both scientists and viewers tuning in to live feeds. The episode lasted around five hours, with continuous lava flow and intermittent jets exceeding 300 meters in height.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), volcanic activity has now subsided, and there is currently no immediate threat to nearby communities. This marks the 36th recorded eruption event since late December 2024, underscoring Kilauea’s persistent activity.
