A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck Maule in Chile on Friday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said.
The quake was at a depth of 100 km (62.14 miles), EMSC said.
Strong tremors were felt across the city, and many buildings shook from the impact.
However, no reports of damage have emerged so far.
