A powerful 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck Japan at 11:23 a.m. on November 10, according to the National Seismic Network (NCM). Authorities have issued urgent warnings for residents to stay away from the ocean and coastal areas, as aftershocks and additional tremors may occur over the next several days.
Experts caution that the region will remain at heightened risk for at least a week, with the next two to three days considered the most critical period.
Several aftershocks have already been recorded near Yamada, including a 5.4-magnitude quake and two others measuring 5.2. Fortunately, no injuries or significant damage have been reported so far, though officials continue to monitor the situation closely.
Residents are urged to remain cautious, follow emergency updates, and prepare for potential additional seismic activity as Japan’s earthquake monitoring agencies stay on high alert.
