At least 645 people have lost their lives across Pakistan due to monsoon rains, flash floods, and related incidents this year, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The NDMA report said 151 people died in the past 24 hours alone, including 144 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Among the victims were 124 men, 16 women, and 11 children. Another 137 people were injured in the same period, including 107 men, 20 women, and 10 children.
From June 26 to August 16, the nationwide death toll climbed to 645.

In a separate update, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported that 314 people have died and 156 injured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to heavy rains and floods. The rains also damaged 159 houses in the province, of which 97 were partially and 62 completely destroyed.
Most of the casualties occurred in Swat, Buner, Bajaur, Torghar, Mansehra, Shangla, and Battagram, with Buner being the hardest-hit district where 209 deaths were recorded.
