A landslide affected the area of Niscemi, in the province of Caltanissetta, southern Sicily, prompting authorities to evacuate several residential buildings as a precautionary measure.
According to local sources, the landslide occurred following a period of unstable weather conditions that led to soil saturation and reduced ground stability. Emergency services and civil protection teams were immediately deployed to assess the situation and ensure the safety of residents.
No injuries have been reported so far. However, due to the risk of further ground movement, authorities ordered the evacuation of nearby homes while technical inspections are ongoing. The affected area has been secured, and monitoring continues to determine whether additional preventive measures will be required.

Niscemi, like many parts of southern Sicily, is considered vulnerable to landslides due to its geological characteristics, particularly after prolonged or intense rainfall. Local officials have urged residents to remain vigilant and follow all instructions issued by civil protection authorities.
Further updates are expected as assessments continue and weather conditions evolve.
