A tunnel on Interstate 93 in Boston flooded Wednesday, causing tricky travel conditions for drivers during a winter storm that dropped more than 4 inches of rain across the state.
Instagram user @mariabarajas_ told Boston.com she was driving from the Seaport to the Liberty Hotel around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when she shot video from inside the flooded tunnel. She provided a clip of the flooding to the publication.
Officials with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation also confirmed the Exit 135 off-ramp from Interstate 90 to I-93 was closed due to flooding.
“MassDOT crews are on scene responding to flooding on the off-ramp and are working to reopen the ramp,” officials wrote Wednesday night.
A warm and wild winter storm left a path of flooding and wind damage across Massachusetts on Wednesday with some areas recording multiple inches of rain and winds up to 66 miles per hour.
