In a surprising development, a 3.9 magnitude earthquake jolted the North Hollywood area on Sunday night, hours after the 95th Academy Awards ceremony concluded.
The temblor hit at around 10:13pm PT, three hours after Anora won Best Picture at the Oscars, making it a five-win night for the movie.
Despite its closeness to post-ceremony revelries, no injuries or damage were immediately reported, and attendees at post-Oscar parties didn’t feel the shake, reportedly.
The quake’s epicenter was located 1.4 miles east-southeast of North Hollywood, approximately 1.7 miles north of Universal City, and 2.5 miles east-northeast of Studio City.
The earthquake hit at a depth of 15.29 km, with tremors reaching as far west as Santa Monica and east to Los Feliz.
Despite the widespread shaking, no major damage or injuries have been reported thus far.
