A 5.5-magnitude earthquake was reported in Alaska on Wednesday (April 2), according to the United States Geological Survey.
The earthquake was centered on Attu Station at a depth of 11.8 kilometers (about 7.3 miles). The USGS said it received zero reports of people having felt the earthquake at the time of publication.
The Attu Station earthquake was reported hours after a 5.1-magnitude earthquake was reported in Alaska on Tuesday (April 1), according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered at a depth of 11.4 kilometers (about seven miles).
