An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 on the Richter scale hit Pakistan at 1:00 PM (IST), the National Center for Seismology confirmed Saturday.
As per the NCS, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km and the epicentre is said to be in Attock District in Punjab province.
The tremors were felt as far as Kashmir, reports say.
The quake comes days after a quake of similar magnitude hit Taiwanon Wednesday.
The 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck northeastern Taiwan, briefly shaking buildings in the capital Taipei but causing no immediate damage or injuries, the USGS said.
