According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), a 2.9 mb_L earthquake happened approximately 0.5 miles south-southeast of Hicksville, Ohio around 6:45 a.m.
The USGS says an mb_L is a type of earthquake measurement used for regionally central or eastern United States events, as they are often based on the amplitude of Lg surface waves recorded on short-period instruments.
According to reports to the USGS, the earthquake could be felt in as far places as Angola, Ligonier, and Bluffton, Indiana; Bryan and Lima, Ohio; and Sturgis, Michigan.
