According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the tornado touched down near Wade, Mississippi at 12:25 p.m. This is 14 miles north of Escatawpa.
As of 12:30 p.m., the tornado was moving northeast at 20 miles per hour.
The NWS warns that Wade, Hurley and Vancleave will be impacted.
According to the NWS, flying debris will be dangerous to those without shelter. Mobile homes could be damaged or destroyed, and damage to trees, roofs, windows and vehicles may occur.
Southeastern George County was under a tornado warning until about 12:50 p.m.
WLOX News received reports of a possible tornado in Pearl River County earlier Friday morning, but the NWS has not confirmed this as an actual tornado.
Photo and video shows extensive damage to a barn in the Savannah area, between Poplarville and Picayune. Family says the barn was completely destroyed, and the home suffered some damage as well.
